Walk around any of the high street stores in the past few weeks and you are bedazzled by sparkle and sequins on every rack. Tis' the season and all that, and boy are we making the most of it in the fashion world this year!! Christmas really is the one time of year that fashion can be exaggerated and dramatised beyond what we may consider our 'normal' style so I say go with it, but there are a few tips I have to keeping the look chic if you so wish! I have styled some looks as alternatives to 'the sparkly dress' so that you can shimmer and sparkle all through the season without losing your innate sense of style! The Sparkly Pants Jump To It Tailor Made Luxe Sparkle As time evolves, party wear is becoming much more versatile and easy to wear and I for one am so happy that it is not always about the little sequin dress! You can have so much fun playing around with different pieces and the likelihood of restyling and re wearing them is much higher! Velvet, texture and embellishment play a big role in party ready looks and mixing all three creates a lux, feel that will easily take you from dinner to dance floor, all season through!

Think urban chic combined with an air of relaxed sophistication, set on the doorstep of Galway City and you have it in one: The Maldron Hotel Sandy Road. I was lucky enough to be invited along to the relaunch of The Maldron recently by Kate and Orlagh the lovely ladies at Havas and I must say I was amazed with the whole refurbishment. From modern light fixtures to bright furnishings, everything is sleek and modern, yet the hotel still manages to have a homely warm atmosphere. From the moment you enter into the spacious bright reception area, you are treated to an array of visual delights from the elegant dining area in muted greys to the stunning boardrooms fit for any important corporate event. One thing that struck me was the comfortable waiting lounges located just outside of the meeting rooms equipped with tea and coffee stations so you can save time during important meetings or take a phone call in comfort. Following an amazing lunch in the 'Grain & Grill' bar and restaurant consisting of a tender tasty roast and a melt in the mouth chocolate desert (and trust me, I know a good desert when I see one!!) we were kindly treated to a tour of the rooms and all I can say is wow. I had been in the hotel a handful of times prior to the refurbishment and the transformation created by the Dalata Hotel Group is outstanding. Paintings of areas throughout Galway city line the walls of each of the bedrooms, and muted colour palettes are decorated with splashes of bold yellow, a theme seen throughout the hotel, and a real signature feature of The Maldron Hotel. We were shown bedrooms that are part of a new extension on the property, as well as the original rooms which had been refurbished, and each one was finished with intricate attention to detail. Guests can choose from standard double single or king rooms, as well as superior, twin, executive and accessible rooms. There really is something for everyone at The Maldron Hotel Sandy Road. If you're a coffee lover like me why not try the Delata Hotel Groups own signature coffee at 'Red Bean Roastery' and for those that like to keep fit during a break away, there is even a small fitness suite located on the ground floor.
Why not treat yourself to a girly getaway with fantastic offers available including afternoon tea and cocktail classes. Take some time out with the family with the crafty kids club and spacious family rooms. I for one know that I will be returning to enjoy this stylish hotel within walking distance of the city centre in the not too distant future- I think a Christmas day out may be on the cards? Go on treat yourself- 'Make it Maldron'. Until next time, Jen X Click Here for Special Offers! We all know that the ultimate staple piece for Autumn is the boot. Until next time, Jen X Who says workwear has to be boring? With so many chic pieces available at high street prices, it has now become somewhat of an art form to dress for the office! Saying that, I can see how older ideas of what workwear should be may make it seem more difficult to be fashion forward 9-5! I wanted to find pieces that are versatile, easy to wear and style savvy at the same time so you no longer have to sacrifice your style for your day job! Happy Shopping! So go on, why not dare to be different with your workwear! Until next time, Jen X /If you have ever been lucky enough to visit Tribeton on Merchants Road Galway, then you will know that the attention to detail is immeasurable in every aspect. From the food to the decor, there is no stone left unturned, so when I was kindly invited along to the launch of their brand new cocktail menu recently by concordi.ie/ and http://www.influenced.ie/ I jumped at the chance. The day began with a delicious espresso martini from the new menu and was followed by a choice of lunch or brunch. As always the service was amazing and just sitting in the surroundings of this urban yet comfortable Galway gem, created an air of relaxation and enjoyment by all! I have been many times before and I was lucky enough to celebrate a few very special occasions at Tribeton and I honestly cant recommend it enough! If your looking for a chilled bar with amazing cocktails and cool vibes or a relaxed place to kick back for Sunday brunch, then Tribeton should be your go to! Why not make it part of your weekend plans? I promise you will return time and time again- you can thank me later!
Until next time, Jen X We all know what it's like. We have our eye on that gorgeous bag or that must have coat trying to justify reasons why we 'must have it'. Before you know it sale season comes around and if you have had enough patience not to make the 'must have' purchase, you find yourself rushing to check if that coveted piece has that shiny sale sticker-because whats better than a good buy, than a good buy on sale? I have recently made a conscious decision when buying clothes to ensure that I am making a smart buy as we all know that trends come and go and that I for one confess to getting tired of pieces after a while. I made a goal to search for good buys at good prices to update my autumn winter wardrobe & I feel it was definitely a success. The pieces I found are versatile and and fashion forward without being limited to one season. I recently shared some of them over on my Instagram and the response was really good so I thought I would compile a post on some of the best midseason sale finds that I have found on the high street for A/W. Topshop New LookRiver IslandWarehouseI absolutely love finding versatile pieces at great prices that can be worn all year round! The key is to not focus too much on current trends, but on classic pieces in statement or neutral colours that you can mix and match with items you already have in your wardrobe! The only problem I have when doing these posts is that I want all of the pieces myself!!

Until next time, Jen X It may sound strange to some people, but fashion excites me everyday! Styling outfits, admiring outfits and reading about trends is what I have loved to do since a very young age and it is one of the main reasons why I began 'Style Sanctuary' over three years ago. The negativity with which 'blogging' has been perceived in society in recent months has been disheartening to say the least, but I am a firm believer that if you continue to be yourself and share your ideas because it is what you love to do, that will shine through to your followers, whether that be one or ten thousand. 'Stalking' the style at this seasons Paris Fashion Week, is really what got me thinking about my love for all things fashion related. While I always adore to see the runways awash with next seasons upcoming trends, I get so excited while waiting to see what gems the fashion elite have instore for us pre and post show! I have always been intrigued by streetstyle and its ability to tell a story and capture a personality in one snapshot. This PFW was no exception and spoiled us with some of the most elegant and dare I say chic streetstyle looks that I have seen to date! 'Song Of Style 'Aimee kept it feminine and 50's in a chic 'Dior' gown for their S/S '19 showcase. She stayed true to her own original style with the sheer black lace detailing and leather belt to cinch her waist creating, that stunning silhouette for which 'Dior' are loved. The kitten heel with bow detail accentuates the pattern of the full skirt while elongating the leg. Another showstopping look for the style queen. 'The Blonde Salad'Nothing screams 90's like a check two piece and wow did Chiara Feraggni of 'The Blonde Salad' impress with this look! The newlywed oozed elegance in this stunning design with playful polka dots by 'Calzedonia' and classic accesories completed her youthful look. Camila Coelho Camila Coelho was one of a few 'Fashion Icon' finds diring PFW. This look from Jacquemes was absolutely stunning and was a real illustration of her own style which I adored. Her looks are form-fitting with an air of elegance and pristine makeup adorns almost every look. Her unique style allows her to put her own stamp on the fashion world and with a cool 7.4m followers on Instagram alone, she is set to be one of the worlds biggest influencers! Negin MirsalehiA social media success story in her own right, Negin oozes cool and her PFW style was no exception. Girly met biker chic in this incredible Dior ensemble when Negin apologetically paired this soft pink tulle with black leather lace ups, and added statement accessories to complete the look. With a casual five million Instagram followers, her own blog and a succesful hair brand named Gisou under her belt (no surprise given her own luscious locks!), she is only on the rise.
I would love to know who your favourite street style looks were. Let me know here or over on my social media pages! For now I am off to browse the highstreet to try and recreate some of these stunning looks! Until next time, Jen X As soon as I heard that the eternally stylish Arielle Charnas of 'Something Navy' (somethingnavy.com/) would be launching her own fashion collection in collaboration with Nordstrom (shop.nordstrom.com/?origin=tab-logo) I waited with baited breathe to see the inevitably stunning pieces. Known for her simplistic, effortless style since she began her own blog back in 2009, launching her own collection seemed to be a natural progression in ultimately turning her hugely successful blog into a business. The collection launched today and it certainly did not disappoint. With simple silhouettes and immaculate attention to detail, each piece is beautifully created and yet, it would seem, easy to wear. With the price range somewhere near the upper end of high street retailers, the collection looks set to be a huge success. Here are some of my favourite pieces. Trying to pick favourites to share was not easy, because realistically I could have chosen every piece but these are the ones that I could definitely see myself wearing day to day! I adore this collection and cant wait to see what is next for Arielle after following her fashion journey for the past two years!

While I have always preferred a more simplistic approach to fashion, the subtlety with which the trend has been approached has ignited a love for them which I did not expect. Brands like 'RIXO London' have set the bar high and it looks set to dominate street-style for may months to come. I wanted to share some of my favourite printed pieces available on the high street now that embody the trend without being overbearing. Just click on the images to shop the trend! Polka Dot PrintsLeopard Print LoveMixed SignalsI think the key to wearing prints is to keep everything else simple. Pare back with neutral colours and keep accessories minimalistic. Wear them with confidence and if your a little bit wary of jumping on the band wagon, start with simple details!
Happy Shopping, Until next time, Jen X I have began and deleted this post more times than a little over the past few weeks! Nothing used to make me happier than putting my ideas into words and having people read them and hopefully relate but recently, since the issues within the blogging agency have come to light, I admit I have struggled to generate and express ideas. The motivation has been lacking and I feel that for a while every blogger was painted with the same brush, and I get that but it wasnt always fair! Ironically enough this post actually came about while deep in thought about the whole 'blogging world' and what it means to those of us that have enjoyed being a part of it prior to the last few months. A few weeks ago one morning I went to treat myself to a coffee. I strolled along coffee in hand, it slowly going cold while I searched for a spot for the 'perfect insta pic'. After finding so called spot and 'enjoying' a lukewarm coffee, I thought, how daft is this. Instead of enjoying my coffee I wasted so much time getting the 'perfect pic'. So began a train of thought for me. Is this how it is now? Everyone going around taking the most instaworthy pictures with nobody truely enjoying the moment-is it all for the insta? Theres no point me sitting here pretending that I have stopped taking photos because if you follow me on Instagram, you will know that it is one of my favourite past-times but it has definitely made me more concious of the time consumed while doing so and I have definitely improved in that regard! It also got me thinking about why I do it-it makes me happy. If something is really pretty or I love my new shoes I can appreciate that and share the moment. If I am having a day out with a friend and I feel like capturing the moment, I can. I think the key is to do it quickly so as it does not consume an event, it becomes a snippet of it! I say do more of what makes you happy & what sets your soul on fire-just make sure you are actually enjoying it! Until next time,
Jen X |
