Rock Star There is nothing like a rock style tee to create a fashion forward look . I adore them with all black basics and studs and the more oversized the better! For a more streamlined finish tuck your tee into your skinnies and add a black and gold belt. Bling it OutWho says you cant dress up your tee with a bit of sparkle? Channel the ever stylish Chiara Ferragni and team yours with sequins and trainers for an air of effortless cool! Keep accessories to a minimum and let your tee do the talking! All WhiteIs there anything more stylish than a crisp plain white tee teamed with blue denim? A look suited to many occasions team it with loafers and bangles to accessorise and add a crossbody bag for extra style points. Cartoon CoolPlay around with colour and imagery to bring an element of fun to your look. Team with a skirt and minimal accessories for a playful summer look! Here are a few of my high street picks: The tee is an investment piece and the key is to go for quality over quantity to ensure it lasts! Keep messages muted and imagery suited to other pieces in your wardrobe to make sure you get the maximim wear out of it.
Happy Shopping! Until next time, Jen X

Happy Tuesday guys & girls. What better start to the week than with a post on my absolute favourite trend of the season;ruffles. From skirts to shoes, I adore the look and there are so many versatile ways to wear them. Dressed up or down, the ruffle is ultra chic. I adore the look of a long ruffle dress over jeans and the drama of an oversized ruffle creates an effortless fashion forward look. Wear smaller subtle ruffles on the sleeve cuffs or at the bottom of a simple dress for a take on the trend. The high street has so many stunning options available. Here are a few of my favourites; I hope you all have a good week.
Until next time, Jen X Happy Thursday Everyone, I hope your all having a good week! I spent a day off this week detoxing my wardrobe and it got me thinking about mindless shopping. Sometimes its just too easy to pop into town for one thing and before you know it your laden down with bags and 'bargains'. I am totally guilty of it so I recently made a promise to myself to be more aware of what im buying and clearing out my wardrobe has inspired me even more! I have put together a guide to smart shopping and how to ensure your wardrobe consists of a capsule collection, versatile enough for any occasion. Detox Your WardrobeBefore taking to the shops a wardrobe detox is a must. Take everything out of your wardrobe and lay it out in one place. Seperate your items into piles-one for the charity shop, one for dated pieces and one for more expensive pieces that you have only worn once and want to pass on via Depop! Work by these two rules-get rid of it if you haven't worn it in six months plus or if it is mismatched among your most adored items. Remember, your capsule collection should be seamless and interchangeable. Believe me once this is done you will be so relieved at the lack of clutter and can start to build on what you actually need rather than what you think you need. Write it DownAfter you have detoxed you should have created somewhat of a capsule collection which I will elaborate on in a future post. If there are vital pieces that you feel you are missing, note them down for your next shopping trip to avoid unneccesary spending. Quality Not QuantityDont get me wrong, I love a bargain as much as the next girl but as Im getting older I am realising more and more the value of investing in good quality pieces. Heres my advice-if its a bag, coat or timeless pair of shoes, invest. If its a one off piece that will only see you through one season dont spend more than fifty euro on it. Trends will come and go but if you put your money into classic neutral items they will last you a lifetime. Dont Always Follow The CrowdDo you. Shop for what suits your size, your shape and your personality. Dont feel that you have to follow current trends to look stylish. Simplicity is often best and confidence is everything. In the words of the fashion icon that will always be Carrie Bradshaw 'Dont forget to fall in love with yourself first'. Keep this a focus when choosing what are the best looks for you and not what everyone else is wearing. Seek Advice.. But trust your InstinctsA shopping spree with a friend or sister can be a fabulous day out. By all means seek advice about looks or pieces you love but keep in mind that you may have different opinions or styles so stay true to yourself too. Rather than getting hung up on style differences ask others honest opinions about fit and colour suitability. A second opinion is always good.
Ladies, take advantage of the long bright evenings to begin your wardrobe detox. Create your capsule wardrobe and give back to charity. Happy Clearing! Until next time, Jen X Midi is the new length to love. It is chic, elegant and oh so wearable once the style is right! Mixed with stunning summer prints in a skirt, dress or kimono, midi can take you from office to occasion with sheer ease. Here are some of my favourite ways to wear. Belt UpA longline guna in a neutral colour is a seriously chic way to wear midi. Belt up for added style points and to balance out the length and add quirky accessories for a fashion forward look. Kimono LoveI have a feeling that the midi length kimono will be the style staple of the summer. So easy wear and stylish it looks just as fabulous over a pair of skinnies as a dress. I adore this combination of mustard over black on the ever fashionable Olivia Culpo. Floral FeelsIts hard to deny the elegance that floral prints create on summer pieces year on year. I love the effect of colorful patterns on a navy or red base. Florals are a simple yet stunning way to spruce up your summer wardrobe. To ensure total elegance when styling your midi its so important to get the fit perfect. Dont wear pieces with too much volume and shop in the petite section if your a little shorter like me! Belt up for emphasis on the waist and style with leg lengthining heels! There are some gorgeous options on the high street now if your in love with midi as much as me! Check out my pick of the best: Happy Shopping Girls!
Until next time, Jen X Summer has finally arrived in Ireland and I couldnt be happier. Fresh from a fabulous weekend of family time, relaxation and of course sunbathing, I wanted to share my summer inspired looks with you all. Rythm & BluesFor a Sunny Saturday, I finally wore my new 'J Brand' jeans which I was super excited about! They are so soft, seriously comfy and a crop style, perfect for my height! I love this wash too as it can be worn season to season seamlessly. I paired them with this cute pastel blue ruffle top from 'Penneys' and navy mules, accessorising with my fave bird detail bag. Get the Look: Pastel LoveKeeping with the blue theme from earlier in the day I couldnt wait to wear these pastel high waist trousers on Saturday Night for a surprise party for my Dad. I picked them up in 'New Look Fashion' this week and I just love how summery they are! I wore them with a lace crop top also from 'New Look' and one of my favourite pieces ever, this white cape jacket from 'Lavish Alice'. Summer FloralsFor a day of relaxing and basking in the sun I wanted something light summery and easy to wear so this 'Primark' dress was the perfect choice. At less than ten euro and with loads of styles in store now you cant go wrong! I paired it with my black leather boots for a festival-esque look (I wont lie, it was way to warm to keep them on!!) and my favourite bag once again. See similar styles instore now here: I hope your all enjoying the sunshine and your summer wardrobe planning!
Until next time, Jen X Sheer style is something that comes in and out of fashion from season to season. Get it right and its undeniably fashion forward but get it not so right and its very unforgiving! There are three key points in sheer dressing-the right fit, the right underwear and the right pattern. I adore the look of a long maxi dress or skirt over fitted pants. It is so fashion forward and fabulously elegant. If you are nervous about trying the trend why not try a semi sheer top with jeans to give it a go? If your loving the look make your sheer piece the focal point of your outfit like this amazing black sheer lace skirt above. This is definitely a look I will be trying out this summer and the high street have so many options to offer! For something extra special you have to check out the exquisite sheer pieces from 'Dolce & Gabbanna' A Girl can dream!!
Until next time, Jen X I hope you all had a fabulous long weekend!Easter has to be one of my favourite times of year (not just because of the eggs!!)and I was lucky enough to be home for it this year. I spent the weekend relaxing, spending time with family and of course eating chocolate after a long six weeks without it! I absolutely love getting home to catch up with family and Im feeling refreshed after a lovely weekend! Of course I couldn't let the oppurtunity for an outfit shoot pass me by while I was home so Michael was roped in to do a quick shoot before dinner! Top: Jeans, Leather jacket & Shades: Boots: Bag: Enjoy the rest of your Bank Holiday Weekend! Until next time, Jen X The silk scarf is fast becoming my favourite accessory for Spring. Its versatility, feather like weight and pretty prints are but few reasons why it should become a staple piece in your wardrobe in the coming months. There are so mqny different ways in which to wear it and for me the more colourful the better! Worn classicaly draped on the shoulder to accentuate a look is the way in which the silk scarf is primarily worn, however you may be surprised to see the many other ways you can style it. Worn as a headscarf, a belt or a necktie, the silk scarf becomes a fashion forward addition to any look. Draping it from a fabulous handbag is another chic way to work it into your summer wardrobe. The high street has many options and I was lucky enough to recently come across an amazing local brand who have the most incredible silk scarves that you simply must check out for exquisite designs. Happy shopping Ladies!
Until next time, Jen X Ok so here it is-the first in the 'Beauty File' series! I must admit Im a little nervous about stepping out of my comfort zone-that is fashion, but hey isn't that what its all about? I really wanted to start this series after coming across so many fabulous products recently and rather than shouting about them constantly, (just ask my sisters!!!) I thought why not share them with all of you. Im no beauty expert and I dont claim to be but I really wanted to share my personal results here! I hope you enjoy!x Nivea SkincareThe first in the series is all about the Nivea skincare range. I have to say I havent had huge problems with my skin growing up but it has been partial to a few break outs over the years and in the last few weeks I noticed it begin again. I know at times I need to be more vigilant with my routine so I wanted to get a collection that did what it claimed to at a reasonable price. I have used Nivea in the past so I was excited to try their 3 in 1 micellar water and priming mouisturiser. I am already using a face scrub by another brand which is working for me so I stuck with that! Micellar WaterWhen micellar water came on the scene last year I must admit I was a little sceptical-I thought 'how is it any different to normal water?'. I tried out a few different ones and while I could see some benefits it wasnt until I began using the Nivea one that I really fell in love with it! It really deeply cleanses the face. I use it twice over before using my scrub and I feel my skin is extremely refreshed afterwards! Becaue it is 3 in 1 cleanser, eye makeup remover and toner I get that relief of knowing that all remenants of my makeup are gone and it feels so fresh! MousturiserLike the cleanser I had been looking for a good mouisturiser for a long time. When i saw that the Nivea one was also a primer I thought why not try it out! There were some elements of it I really loved. It gave me a fabulous flawless base for my makeup and felt very refreshing on application. I do however feel that I chose the wrong product for my skintype. I got a mouisturiser suited for dry skin although I do have slightly combination skin at times! For this reason I dont feel I got the full benefits of the product but I would definitely try a different type of mouisturiser again and I would reccomend the one I used to anyone with dry skin. I hope you have all enjoyed the first of the beauty files! Feel free to let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions for further posts let me know!
Happy long weekend! Until next time, Jen X While the loss of an hour a few weeks back means one less hour in bed, it does bring with it the fabulously bright evenings which has motivated me to plan for my summer wardrobe! Anyone who knows me or has followed 'Style Sanctuary' for a while knows that black is always my colour of choice, but believe it or not, blush is giving it a run for its money of late! I never thought blush pink would be one of my favourites but with the fabulous options available on the high street now and its versatility against other pastels, its fast becoming a summer wardrobe staple. All Images are from Pinterest With so many different shades and different takes on tge trend, I have a feeling its going to be a prominent colour on the summer social scene. Chanel Spring Summer 2017 The high street is awash with options for you to try out the trend and if your still not sure its for you, why not tap into it with some subtle accessories first? Check out some great options here: Have a happy Monday!
